Starting in 2025, it looks like there will be changes to the MSAs of Louisiana. Derived from the link below:

St. Tammany will become a new MSA (Covington, Mandeville, Slidell)
New Orleans MSA loses St. Tammany Parish
Lake Charles MSA adds Jeff Davis Parish
Monroe adds Richland Parish
Lafayette loses Iberia Parish

It wasn't easy deciphering this from the document, so I apologize for any errors.

Slidell is that meth head cousin that nobody wants to admit they’re related to.

And you probably never even spent time there

Best city in the entire state if you like to hunt and/or fish and some of the most gorgeous river property on the entire gulf coast

If Slidell is the best city in the entire state then holy shite you might as well put us behind Mississippi in every national ranking. That’s depressing

So the New Orleans MSA and the Baton Rouge MSA will both be about the same size after this shake up that makes Covington/North shore their own thing.

I don’t see how this changes anything or who uses this data.

Those three areas have been growing into each other for a while. I guess enough people on the north shore work on the north shore for it to be a distinct statistical place. Seems weird that Dallas/Fort Worth is one MSA but New Orleans/North Shore won’t be.

Eventually Baton Rouge, north shore, New Orleans, and Miss Gulf Coast will probably all be one area. Maybe we can score a second Top Golf by then.

There's a big arse swamp between Baton Rouge and New Orleans that is a major hindrance to this otherwise it might have already happened.
