When the Central Wildcats meet the Zachary Broncos for their home game at 7 p.m. Friday, something will be a bit different: Instead of extra-duty Central police officers, East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies will be providing security.

The request from the school was not unreasonable. Police chief taking it to Facebook is pretty trashy.

The principal's request
quote:

Prescott, contacted Thursday evening, said the request involved the Oct. 15 homecoming dance. Prescott said he had asked the chief not only for extra-duty officers, but also to station both an extra-duty policeman and policewoman in the hallway near the school restrooms in case a student of either sex became ill and needed help.

The police chief's answer

quote:

"I refused a demand by high school principal David Prescott (for a prior event) that was not needed and could have opened the city, the police department and the school system to a sexual discrimination lawsuit. I was unwilling to gamble with your tax dollars," Salsbury wrote in the 172-word post.

I worked at CHS. The principal is a reasonable very guy.

All of Central's principal's are some weakass pc jackasses.

They also have a rule where no male can be a chaperone over ANY girls on field trips. Women can chaperone boys though.

Why? Men are guilty of being a potential threat to girls just because they possess a dick.

Glad to see high schoolers still stashing alcohol in the bathroom before a big dance!

A pissing contest. The chief just fricked his people out of making some easy money though.

Since the school pays for off duty officers to act as security for these events, I would think that their requests should be granted as a paying customer. Pretty simple.
Oh and Central is full of political trash that loves to air their grievances on social media

That's kinda a weird request. I'm pretty certain that CPD does not have the resources (both male and female officers) to fullfill such a request. The principle could assign a female teacher to work area and be available just in case needed in conjunction with the officer.

It's to relieve the school of liability.
