to be Devil's Advocate, what say you on the extensive expertise B&R hired? The selection isn't about the firm itself but what staff will be working on it. Same reason firms hire former DOT personnel and get contracts.....

All of it?

I don't think anyone was getting that work without a political connection. It's basically just managing an army of contractors, correct?

No matter what firm gets the contract, it will be a cluster, 13,500 homes in a month, no fricking way.

Will take an army of people.

13,500 applicant intake/approvals, damage assessments and work orders before the end of Sept......insane! They expect 30,000 applications

one firm or team of firms for each. There were 2 RFPs: one for program mgmt. and one for construction

There will be a pool of contractors the Program manager will have to coordinate.

All work to be completed by Dec 31st

I don't have a dog in the fight, but I'd suspect B&R has more local connections too and they will be quicker to tap into local contractors to do a lot of the work; thus keeping the work local.

I'd also suspect without doing a body count that B&R has the expertise at the top who can put something together fast to do the work based on the experience they gained from Katrina and other projects.

And even if its close B&R was going to win the tiebreaker based on politics.

This deal was a slam dunk for them. No need to get the sales lady involved. ;-)

Don't you have a deposition or an ambulance to chase? Governor "honor code" a dozen times is enough.

Who knows. Ross Jr. died recently and their family did a hell of a job. They worked their sons up from helpers to owners. As long as they're still involved in MEI it will still be successful. They didn't buy our crown enterprises, just MEI. Crown had 3-4 companies so it depends on how it goes from there.

Watch your mouth, broke dick.

It must hurt your feelings that the Governor who said he would abide by the honor code gave a large contract to his buddy as political payback?

In this particular RFP 20% of the points was based off of the FIRMS expertise. They would have gotten a zero there. Literally. The 20% had nothing to do with personnel expertise. As to the expertise of their personnel, I don't know who they poached from CB&I.

I'm glad the corporation I work for doesn't deal with B &R or some of those others. Of course if they bid low I'm sure they'd get in.
