I have a nissan pathfinder with 85k miles. Today while driving down a road at a constant 55 mph, my vehicle would do a big jolt then drive fine. Was doing it about every 3-5 minutes. It's raining out so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. It's gives a real strong jerk. Is it a belt, vaccuum, spark plug or a tranny or what? Or did I get something wet? It did it while using cruise also
TIA

I'm afraid your car has AIDS. My condolences

Rearmost spark plug is likely holding water and causing a misfire.

Does the tach go up to redline? Or does it feel like a shudder from the engine or drivetrain?

Your tires are spinning on the wet surface and then they grab because of the cruise control.

The year is important.

Nissan had some issues with their mid size platforms leaking coolant into their transmission causing the transmission to frick up.

I think they had 100k mile warranty on then.

My buddies Xterra did that. Trans cooler breached sensing coolant into the trans fluid.

Pull the dipstick and see what the fluid looks like. It's acidic so be careful. If it smells like coolant that's your issue.

....who what now?

The acidic portion I mean.

I haven't run OEM coolant in years in my nissam, but I don't remember it being acid

I'm pretty confidant it's the transmission. Get it checked out.

My buddy had one (Pathfinder) that did the "death wobble".

It wobbled his arse into the woods and damn near kilt him.

And I know the warranty doesn't cover that problem now because of age.....if that is the problem. Let's hope not

Sounds like a transmission issue. Sell the Nissan and get a Porsche. I just saw a really good deal on a CPO Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Anti-freeze has a distinct flavor. You need to drink about 12 ounces to get the full flavor experience.

Neither coolant or transmission fluid are acidic.

This sounds like you haven't been servicing your exhaust bearings.
