Car insurance question: friend in accident, not his fault, he is uninsured

Long story short....
Friend was in accident yesterday morning. (No pics....its an ugly dude)
Accident 100% not his fault...he was hit from behind.
Friend had no insurance. Turns out he hadn't for a couple months. I already told him what a dumbass he is....so save all that.
I'm aware Louisiana is "no pay/no play"
The other party's insurance is already not wanting to pay for damages to his car and his injuries.
Now to the crux:
The friend reinstated his insurance yesterday a couple hours after the accident. Yesterday was 4/8. His proof of insurance lists 4/8 as the effective date of his insurance. 4/8 is also date of accident. He got his insurance company to fax the other company proof of insurance for the day 4/8.
The question: if the other insurance company just sees the date of the insurance will they buy that? Or will they dig around and start trying to pinpoint times of purchase, etc.?
My opinion: friend is fricked. Any thoughts?

Your friend is a dumbass and should get a ticket/fine. Then sue the other insurance company for damages, but will likely lose or get minimal reimbursement.

Your friend should be in jail.

He is effed. He should have had his car impounded.
He's too dumb to carry insurance. You think insurance companies are dumber?

His logic is "my proof of insurance says 4/8". How will other company find out?

Well, the accident wouldn't have happened if that person wasn't on the road.
Both will get screwed I feel.

Your friend is fricked. There's a reason you pay premiums monthly. You can't get into an accident and then say oh shite I should by insurance. It's also illegal and he can have his license and or registration suspended.

Your friend is a douche for being uninsured and I'm glad the other insurance company isn't going to pay for the damage.
Uninsured motorists are why everyone else's rates are so high.

If there was a police report filed which lists the date and time of the accident, your friend is likely screwed. Especially if said report lists him as an uninsured driver in the accident.

That would tell anyone on the planet that he didn't have it at the time of the accident.
He really is dumb.

You really think the insurance company won't notice that he reinstated his insurance on the date of the loss? What a fricking retard.

He should have called immediately after the wreck and added it back.
Then by the time the report was made he may have been able to say he had insurance?

By checking with the state department of insurance to see when the policy was written.

How is he able to drive a car?
Or even breathe?

He says the cop didn't run his license or insurance since he wasn't at fault in wreck.

He's fricked. They'll ask to verify if his policy was active at the TIME of the accident, which he wasn't.
And insurance companies don't look at your card. Companies that do business in Louisiana will call to verify, every time. The reason why cards don't hold water is bc someone will go get a cheap poilicy with a 6 month effective date, then stop paying for insurance after the first month. That way they aren't ticketed if they get stopped for the next five without having to pay insurance.
They will check for the exact time. Count on it.

Don't you think the other company will think it looks suspicious that the date of proof of insurance is the same date as the accident?
Also.....I would imagine they have access to all of the specifics on the policy.....including the time the policy was started. So idiots like your friend don't try and buy insurance the day of the accident.

Insurance is a crock of shite and if one has money and is willing to risk it he should be able to. I for one have the bare minimum it takes to be legal. With that said...it is a law so other guy STACKED...your friend frickED.
