1. Quit dipping
2. Gargle with warm salt water.
3. Quit dipping.
4. Quit having oral sex with partners who have gonorrhea.

A little old school NyQuil with the booze deadens toothaches perfectly. May do the trick for the old canker sore as well.

I've suffered with canker sores all my life, and they suck.. I found out a few yrs back about Sodium Lauryl Sufate, or SLS, which is a foaming agent found in about 99% of the toothpaste at the grocery store or pharmacy, even some 'organic' toothpaste contains it.. SLS also happens to cause canker sores.. I started using SLS-free Biotene toothpaste a few yrs back, but they recently changed the formulation and it doesn't work as well.. Now I use Toms 'Clean and Gentle'; its hard to find in stores but I get it on Amazon and now I rarely get canker sores and when I do, they're not nearly as painful like when it used to hurt to eat and talk, and they are usually gone in a couple days.. Hope this helps.

BBQ sunflower seeds. I get ulcers a lot, I go through a bag of seeds, hurts like crazy, but it gets the job done.

When I quit dipping, the stress of it caused me to get a huge canker sore on the side of my tounge - I was out of town on business and a co-worker told me to rinse my mouth with straight 3% proxide. It knocked it out and worked great! Make sure you don't ingest it and once you spit it out, rinse with water.

What helps me is knowing it's not a fever blister.
