Cancer free, baws!

Went through RPLND surgery a few weeks ago and all of the lymph nodes and tumors that were extracted came back negative for cancer - they were all dead and just didn't shrink. Doc at Tulane compared those results with the biopsies in my chest and all of the recent pet scans, then gave me a high five and told me to GTFO. I'm headed back to the local hospital to get set up for PET scan and blood work monitoring every 3 months for the next 3-5 years. 18 months of hell has finally come to an end. I still have to recover from this last surgery because they took out my right kidney, but if I could dance and shout from the rooftops I would! I'll be released to get back to work in 8ish weeks when the soreness and fatigue from the kidney removal fades, until then I've gotta keep my feet up at home for a couple of more weeks then get back on the gym to do cardio stuff to get the stamina back to normal.
In total: 8 weeks of chemo (2 were high dose), 2 stem cell transplants, 10 surgical procedures, 14 new scars (one is 2' long across my entire abdomen), 1 less kidney, 1 less nut (rip rightie), 35 less lymph nodes in my abdomen.
Don't ever let anyone get the impression that there is an "easy cancer" to beat. This is what I was told by a few people up front about testicular cancer and I went through hell trying to beat this stuff. Stay on top of your health baws - I was in perfect health for 40 years until this happened and now I can barely walk to the end of the driveway without feeling like Ive been shot in the back and knifed in the gut.
