I’m asking a question. Seems pretty obvious.

Jay ran his elected offices as if they were businesses, I don't doubt he would do the same with LSU (which is sorely needed). More than that though, he's a graduate of LSU and continues to be a big supporter (I think he's had basketball season tickets for at least the past 20 years).
If he went over there he would most likely bring his right-hand man, Randy Davis, with him. Davis is also an LSU alum and has been a season baseball ticket holder for many, many years.
Both are also football fans.
Anything would be a step up for fricking Alexander, having someone who has already been a decades-long supporter of the university would be an even bigger step up (even if it's not Dardenne).
Well I fit all of this except I run my business like a business not elected office and I’ve held basketball tickets since 1985 and inherited football tickets that go back to 1948 and my right hand man is actually a woman.
And I wouldn’t know how to run a university.
This is just another “good ole boy” attempt and they have run it up the flagpole to see what kind of resistance it gets so they can decide to reward him for his political support. fricking Louisiana at its finest.
And for the record I’ve known Jay Dardenne since we were kids, I’ve supported and voted for him over his career. But this stinks to high fricking heaven.

No you’re ignoring the vast majority of a post to try and get a reaction. Fox News style

Are academic rankings have been free falling while he hangs his hat on pointless diversity stats.
I assume standards have dropped to meet diversity quotas?

Most are just upset because he doesn't share their political views.
Most are upset because he's a liability in academics.
Anyone who supports or defends him is, by definition, in favor of intellectual mediocrity.

I agree he was not the best fit at LSU but most of the people that wanted him gone, have never met him, never talked to him and only know what they heard someone else say
But then again that is what much of the board is made of-

This post more than evens out the grammatical error of the earlier F King hater

No. I’m asking about an example he used which I don’t understand why he is using it.
Fail.

I know that he was some liberal prick from California
He was hand picked by Bobby Jindal and his sycophants on the B.O.S.
No way he was a "liberal prick". He was brought in to manage the massive budget cuts. He was allowed to publicly bemoan the reduction in funding, but in reality had to whip the rest of the LSU admin in line.
Somebody else mentioned the "hundreds of millions" of taxpayer dollars. Jindal had cut it to mere tens of millions by the time F. King came along.
It's amazing he was so hated on here, because he was one of Jindal's puppy dogs.

I want LSU to have the best academics as possible
In subjects like History? Philosophy? AA Studies? Literature? Latin? Greek? Foreign Languages? Math?...as in theoretical mathematics? The type of shite that Sheldon and Leonard did on "Big Bang Theory"?
When I was there, LSU had stellar Literature and History departments. Don't know how they fare now, but I imagine they are mediocre at best now.
My guess is that most people on here would want Himes, Stubbs, and Nicholson Halls cleared out and replaced with welding, instrumentation, and HVAC schools.

Lucky So-and-So,
I don’t know where you got your tens of millions figure. But, in the budget document I found, LSU’s non-health care state expenditures are over 380 million dollars. Total expenditures over a BILLION. How can an administrator do nothing but piss and moan for his entire career while he’s spending a billion per year??

Re: the ridiculous BBT comparison LSU will never be CalTech.
We’ll never have the liberal arts programs like other state schools. Don’t have the funding or population necessary.
Academically LSUs bread and butter is the school of engineering and some of the business/marketing stuff. A few random undergrad and postgrad majors.
Kill a half dozen or so other universities and that could change.
