I'm In about to turn 30 and had a few tonight. Thinking about Katrina and how I was a pledge at the time. With LSU football about to start, thinking about college life. I'd kill to go back 10 years. I love my wife and kid, but I never felt like I was "that old" until recently. I hope its not a mid life crisis as I'd like to live past 60, but I sure as hell miss college right now.

I know this is pathetic. But it is what it is. Live out of state and can't make games like I always could. First time I feel like campus isn't at least kind of "home" anymore. Talk me off a ledge.

I went through a similar period recently (I'm 28). I think the catalyst was attending a reunion with some of my college pals last year. I moved to a new place where I've met some friends but it's nothing like seeing my buds every damn day. It doesnt help that everything starts changing in the town when you leave and going back it's like everything is moving on without you. To me it helps to realize that I am making new memories and if my life changes yet again id probably feel the same way about the present.

Everyone looks back and says this... The way to get past it is to live everyday to its fullest... You can't go back, but you can experience newer, greater things with your family here and now. A lot of times we get trapped in our mundane lives and we wish we were back in the "good ole days". Simple as this you can have a greater time now then you did back then, it's all about how you treat each day

you dick. He's going through a tough time thinking of all the young pussy he's getting too old for.

OP: focus on your family, they'll make you happier in the long run. Your friends by now are busy with their own families anyway.

I'm dealing with it fine enough. I'm not very serious about it. But the past few years feel weird. It went front this is where I live, to this is my place, to I used to be a part of this. I don't care about the pussy honestly. Love my wife and wouldn't trade in my kid for anything. But I'd love to go out For Friday free drinks, tailgate all day, and sleep Sunday away

Instead I'll be grocery shopping and cleaning out the garage

This is not a midlife crisis, this is simply growing up and missing the gold old days. A mid life crisis is when you feel old and have anxiety about where you are, the person you are (or are not), and the feeling that it's too late, or getting too late, to do the things you want, be the person you want to be, or accomplish the things you want to. IOW, there's a "too late" component to it.

I'll be 30 in about a month. I have absolutely no desire to go back 10 years. Mostly because of my kids. As volatile as my job is right now I'm happy.

I was definitely being tongue in cheek with the "talk me off a ledge" and "mid life crisis " comments. I'm not really that depressed about it all. Just the first point in my life that I'm realizing I'm getting old. It's kind of strange. I figured that's why guys go off the deep end ~50 and buy sports cars and stuff. Wondered how wierd it is to start thinking about that crap at 30. (Not buying sports cars to compensate, but thinking about getting old)

You need to start deadlifting and doing Wendler.

Once you're making progress getting your strength back, which I can tell has been depleted by years of lethargy and vaginitis, you won't feel so weak and helpless. It's at that point, you'll want to think about taking up a new hobby. I'm going to suggest golf, as Fall4Hundo is upon us, and the air is just right for eviscerating nerds.

Good luck baw.

Then go play golf instead of letting your wife boss you around. She's successfully removed your nuts. Have fun at the gender-reveal party today too.

Wait until you get 50. I miss those days too. I have dreams that we are all back at LSU living in the house. I do get together with my old pals every year. When your kids are grown, you all will have more time to see each other. We travel, go to games, and just hang out. Love those guys.

I always thought that by 50, you would have had enough time to realize that adult fun is better than kid fun.

Good lord it's time to move on. Football and campus life are cool I guess but so is family, making money and doing things that don't involve an lsu polo shirt.
