Price point is a legitimate term used between wholesalers and retailers so that there is a common value placed on a good relative to it's value to the consumer.

Common "price points" are industry specific but to industry insiders they are well known and accepted.

also known as PRICE

just admit you're trying to sound a lot more intelligent than you are with this made-up, redundant term that offers NOTHING in the way of defining or describing a price any better than the singular terms price or cost.

Price is very specific and when dealing with wholesale vs retail is vastly different for the exact same item.
Price point covers a range of prices and each price point generally refers to a place in the "good, better, best" spectrum.
There may be people who use it incorrectly but it does have a legitimate purpose.

I feel you though...I hate people who say "surreal" and "kudos".

so price POINT in your definition is a RANGE?

LOL

contradicts the whole meaning of POINT. a POINT is singular and set and firm. price point, if people really do mean to use it to reference a range, need to think about the term. what your people are grasping for is PRICE RANGE

No it it is not. Price point is where demand curve is highest relative to the elasticity of the demand.

"i couldn't find a car selling at the price point i want." you've heard the dumb speaker who wants to sophisticated, i guess, use this redundant, useless term. i know i've read it here lots, especially on the food and drink board. NO NO NO. why do you include the word point? useless. it adds nothing and makes you sound like a complete moron. a price is a point on a numerical line. you fool! other stupid terms that need to be eliminated: touch base others?

You sat and typed out that jumbled arse mess and still feel you can spew things like

thankfully when i purchase real estate, i do not have intellectually challenged agents working with me. i once did, and as soon as he said, "Price point," i found a new agent.

after doing research, yes, yes i am

i understand that it has a meaning to economists

it does not have a real meaning to the public who uses the term just to extend and attempt to complicate in an effort to sound intelligent the simple, concise term PRICE or COST.

if you search the OT you will see that people who use the term PRICE POINT have no clue what the term in economic terms means. they simply think they are too good to use the term PRICE or COST. they are morons.

You didn't understand this when you posted yet you still want the term banned? You need to abandon this whole thing. You look like a whiny bitch who needs to touch base with his psychiatrist.

dont make me point out the self ignorance of my past

is that really necessary

it's time to get rid of the term price point once and for all

the economic term, while of use to economists, needs to be changed because what is being defined is NOT A POINT
