Can we all just be called Americans?

Why isn't anyone lobbying for us to all be called Americans instead of white and black or white and African American. Also the only people who should be called African American are people who are the child of a legit African and an American. No other country does it this way. I'm "black" btw but I'm not a damn African American idk what that shite is I'm way more German then African (my grandma is from Germany). "Whites" aren't called euro-american or something like that so we just need to be American. I love all my people all colors.

No, because it doesn't allow for special privileges and extra rights.
