You do need to see a physician but I will try to help. More information is needed.

Do certain foods aggravate the issue?
What medications do you currently take?
Have you been on antibiotics a few times in the past year?
How often do you drink alcohol?
Any family history resembling your issue?

Is this a short term or long term problem you are experiencing?

What are you eating? As others asked, are you taking any new/different meds?

I live and die by Florastor. It can be a little pricey, so buy it through somewhere like Amazon. But I'll never take another antibiotic without it. Because it's a yeast-based probiotic, it holds up better in your digestive system.

It's been a fairly lifelong problem, I've always had a touchy stomach but it has worsened over the past year or so. I had a colonoscopy/egd 4 yrs ago and it was normal. No new meds recently or antibiotics. I do eat a lot of bread and sugars, so I may need to cut those. I guess the first step is probiotics.

Drink a Good Belly shot daily. First thing in the morning. You can get them at Whole Foods.

What exactly do these priobiotics do?

I drink a nice glass of Metamucil in the evening and I'm always smooth sailing.

It doesn't make you go, just fills your gut with good bacteria to balance out the bad which causes alot of the issues that keep people in the toilet.

Probiotics like others have mentioned is your best bet

Eat more yogurt with live active cultures

Gluten allergy is mostly BS, however 3% of the population suffer from it. You may be one of the 3%.

I was in your situation and saw a doctor. he diagnosed me with IBS, which really is just nervous stomach. One thing he mentioned if you drink coffee to switch to a low acid coffee. Regular coffee is very high in acid and messing with your gut the whole day and makes it irritable. i switched to a french or spanish roast and it worked wonders(the longer and darker the roast, the less acid) Just a thought.

Get on a combination of probiotic (a good one, not a cheap one with limited strains) and magnesium supplement.

if you want to tackle it all, i'd suggest something that will kill off the fungus in your gut too.

You are right mostly. Natural gluten is a good health nutrient that is VERY healthy.

The problem with gluten, especially from wheat, is when it gets tainted from Glyphosate (roundup) it causes the gluten to be modified into a toxic form that still looks 99% like gluten. As your body starts to recognize this toxin, it starts thinking all gluten is toxic.

Pro biotics help introduce and grow the beneficial gut flora that is supposed to be in your gut. The toxins in modern foods have killed off much of this gut flora AND promoted the growth of yeast/fungus in your gut. The fungus should not be there. There should be trace amounts of candida but that is it. Today, it is massively out of proportion in most folks.

Priobiotics help with the gut flora part but they don't do a whole lot for the fungus/yeast issues.

Seems like everyone is making suggestions to help you go, where your issue is too often.

Start with a good probiotic, I'm a fan of Prescript Assist. But I'd jump on digestive enzymes right away; I suspect you have an issue with fat digestion.

I'd dial the carbs back a bit, but do it gradually to see where your sweet spot is. I'd worry about going too low too soon, in case you do have a fat metabolism challenge.

Question: You eating any sugar free items or drinks with sugar alcohols? Malitol, etc?

Try eating a lot of fruits, vegetables and beans. Stuff with high fiber.

That is an interesting point too. The artificial sweeteners modify the gut flora in a negative way that impacts digestion of sugars. Good question from you, sir.
