I was not aware of that.

Yeah, Pennsylvania has some weird alcohol laws.

Michigan is only other state that comes to mind where liquor can be purchased at grocery store

The individual counties establish the rules.

All of this is foreign to me. Here in Pointee Coupee parish we can buy liquor 24/7/365.

I've been living in Houston since 07 and have never experienced any of these things.

My favorite is a liquor store I went to in Addison that had two entrances, one for beer and wine and one for liquor. Like they couldn't mix the two. Whats the point?
There are a couple of Albertsons in Baton Rouge that are the same way.

I went to a bar in Henderson texas and had to join a club to drink.
I live in the Heights in Houston and there is a one block area where no liquor can be sold. There's s Kroger there with no liquor at all.

Pennsylvania has by far the craziest I've experienced

It's pretty simple and common around the country besides LA. Yeah it sucks not to have liquor at the grocery or convenience store, but it's cheaper to go to a place like Specs and pick up at somewhat of discounts.

I believe Wayne County (Detroit) does not allow beer to be sold at gas stations. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part you cannot. I stopped at 3 gas stations in a row and no alcohol to be found.
Had to go to a bar to pick up a 12 pk when I was in Pittsburgh...weird as shite.

I went to a restaurant this weekend in Grapevine, TX and after we placed our order I told the guy I wanted 2 beers as I saw a small selection in a glass door fridge in the corner. He went on to tell me that they didn't sell beer, it was all free. Just get one at a time and they sure do appreciate it when you leave a tip in the tip jar. They had two big bottles of wine to pour from in there too. Everybody there just helped themselves through the night.

OK is pretty ridiculous too. Gas stations have to sell cold beer that is 3% or below, but they can sell beer that is over 3% as long as it isn't cold. Liquor stores can sell, beer, wine, and liquor, however, the beer cannot be cold and everything they sell has to contain alcohol so they can't sell stuff like Coke or margarita mix. It's completely retarded.

You can find liquor at grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations in California. However it's getting harder and harder to find tobacco.

Hasn't Texas changed all this? In the 90s, I lived outside of Dallas Arlington/Duncanville area. The entire county was dry.

It's far more common than not. Doesn't BR have a separate store at groceries where the liquor is sold?
Not by law. The only grocery stores I know of with a separate liquor store are Albertsons stores. And even those sell liquor in the actual grocery area as well. I think the side liquor store is more out of convenience to people buying just liquor.. and because it has more selection than inside the store.
