This is the second time. I'm afraid when I let my dog out he is going to get out. If he were to run away or get run over could I sue the bastards? I called them on it the first time and they said it wouldn't happen again. Well, it did. I'll probably fire them but it could happen again with the next bunch. Anyway, just curious if you could sue.

Train your dog to not leave the yard. You need to set boundaries.

You're going to sue someone because they left a back gate open? I mean, I get you have a dog but come on bruh, don't be that guy.

Well call them again and cancel any contract if you have one. Get a new service. Why sue?

Maybe get a self closing/self latching gate?

I'm not saying sue for leaving the gate open. Suing if my dog got lost or run over because they left the gate open.

In order to sue successfully you have to prove damages. You can't just sue because someone does something that you don't like.

Smh.

Tell them to stay out of the backyard and cut it yourself.

Check the gate before you let him out...just a notion from a simple mind

Someone is going to sue you when they leave the gate open and your dog gets out and bites someone. Full circle...

Call them and fire them. They may give you a free month or two. If not, you'll still get a more reliable service.

Could happen?

You can't sue for something that hasn't happened.

And only slightly less time, money, and effort would be required than with a lawsuit.

Your responsibility as an owner is to make sure it is shut, right? Regardless of who leaves it open you should be making sure it is shut before you let him out. The dog is your responsibility.

Fire them if you want, don't sue.

Any half decent attorney would just laugh at you for wasting their time.
