Couple days ago I put a collar on my nephew's Yorkshire terrier and I noticed he was acting like he felt like shite, not being his normal self. I took it off and a couple hours later he was back to himself. Put it back on and same thing, took it off, back to himself... it's the damndest shite

The google machine brings up it could be toxic if they eat it or lick it, but he hasn't done either considering it's around his damn neck.

Saint put that collar around your wrist and get back with us in 24 hrs. If anything you may stop itching for a night.

Think about the size difference between a yorky and a great Dane. Same flea collar.

my last dog was on this.... this dog has been just fine, just got his 2nd round of shots about a month back. Vet didn't suggest nothing else....

Took the dog camping for about 5 days and came back with a few fleas. Got him some shampoo and they were all gone. Got him a flea collar just thinking maybe this would help and Boom, poor dude seemed sick

Yea some flea collars contain organophosphates which get in your dogs blood and then kills the fleas. Some dogs are more sensitive to it than others. organophosphates are pretty rough chemicals.

It is very possible a flea collar can make a dog sick by just wearing it.

Summary: While a flea collar can kill fleas, they are potentially dangerous for your pet and don’t usually protect all areas of their skin. Its recommended that you seek alternative treatments such as a spot on treatment, flea shampoo, natural remedies or rather just seek professional assistance. You have been warned, be sure to share this article with your friends and family to help them!
If you pet has fleas, chances are that you have heard about using flea collars and may have wondered if they really work. In short, they have been proven to to kill fleas. However, what many people do not consider is their safety and presume that since they are commercially available, there is no chance that they are dangerous for your dog or cat. I am going to cover all the facts in this article so that you can learn the truth about these collars before making your decision on how to treat the fleas that are bothering your pets. Once your pet is free of fleas, remember that you can make a flea trap to kill them in your carpets and other places around your home.

Yep. Those chemicals are designed to be harmful. It's kind of the point.

Unfortunately my wife lost a pug 6 years ago because she got sick after wearing a flee collar. We figured she would snap out of it after a day but she was dead the next day. Hopefully your dog doesn't have as serious of a reaction.

Go to the vet for a dose of Capstar, kills fleas for 3 months. It's used as a supplement if they get fleas while on Triflexis or sentinel
