Actually, they have been very good about supporting their kids financially if needed. I know this for a fact and have seen it first hand.

State troopers arrested him so it doesn't matter where it happened but if it had happened with BPSO he would have a better chance and you know it. It is an election year and Ricky finally has someone putting up a fight so he will need whatever help he can get.

DA and the judges would bury him regardless of what Ricky had to say about it, I think.
Plus, Ricky interfering would seriously put his whole campaign platform at risk, since he ran on stopping the drug flow in Beauregard Parish.

Meh...you have to know that a few of the assistant DAs get a lot of business from his parents in the form of real estate closings.
