Fiance is very smart. Graduated from Loyola with a 4.0. She's in nursing school but is having problems figuring this problem out. Need your help.

Order: Epinephrine 1mcg/kg/min continuous IV infusion
Available: 1mg in 500 ml D5W (2mcg/ml)
Patient Weight: 70kg
The nurse will set the IV pump to deliver how many mls/hr?

Sorry forgot to give you the answer. The answer is .43 ml/hr. We just can't figure out how to get there.

She might want to rethink nursing school if she can't figure out simple drug dosing questions.

While you're figuring this out for her, she's banging a guy in her class.

So patient needs 70 mcg per minute. So at a concentration of 2 mcg/mL they need 35 ml per minute. So that would be 2100 ml/hr. So the correct answer is get a solution with a higher concentration of epi. Also your patient is essentially dead if they are requiring that kind of press or support.
