Is this the same scientist that claimed global warming was causing mass warmth as the last two years Louisiana has seen decent snow?

You realize that Louisiana isn't the only place in the world, right?

Many parts of the world have had the warmest winter on record.

I think this is all hogwash bullshite.... I'm no environmental scientist, but there are plenty of glaciers, snow and ice holding TONS of water up north.

If we can build a 2 1/2 foot pipe from Alberta Canada to Houston/Port Arthur like it isn't shite (given the EnviroNazis get out the way) I don't see why we couldn't just build one double or triple the size to deliver water to the major metros like L.A., Vegas, Bay Area, etc. ???

I just read some where that the Dutch have a way to desalinate water that is cost effective.
Yes, desalinate facilities have been on line in Saudi for years, the only problem I see with Calif using these is the environmental impact - the fresh water vs salt extracted is really high - they would have to figure out a method to getting the salt back into the Pacific - the problem is $$$ to do that.

Very true..but I think that is a very small percentage of water used, though that doesn't make it ok.

Grass is actually the number one irrigated "Crop" in this country. It takes a ridiculous amount of water to keep those golf courses going in the desert.

You cannot do that in California. You may harm some of the microscopic plankton in the sea water.

Plus for every dollar it cost the Dutch to do this it would cost at least $10 to $15 in California.

Seriously, from what source? As soon as you send a pipeline to California, you better send a tap to Arizona and Texas too.

As long as this doesn't mess up wine production I don't care.

An intercostal pipeline carrying crude oil isn't comparable to one carrying water. Money talks

man, if I could only lay a pipeline from the south to that area.

Or from the snow-packed Northeast U.S.

It was crazy when we were driving from AZ to northern Ca(Fort Bragg/Mendocino) and saw all the grassy areas in CA that you could tell are normally green all brown. Noticed a few times when we were visiting some of the state parks(such as Humboldts redwoods area) that many of the public bathrooms were shut down to conserve water and porta potties were set up instead in the parks.

I love all the people in this thread that are water resource planners and think this is a political/libtard issue.

Water out west is a real issue that isn't going to get better without intervention. The area consumes vast amounts of water to feed this country, but sure, let's continue to make this a political thing.

So did you agree when people outside of LA(and I heard many say that) said the same thing after Katrina?
