Scenario: you do your conference/ training / etc. all day to 5 PM. You take a late flight and ultimately get to your home shortly after midnight. Do you

A. Go to work first thing in the morning, normal time.

B. Go in later, say 10 - 11.

C. Don't go in at all. You could've used this day to fly home anyway.

Eta: to add: this business trip included the need to fly out on your normal off day, Sunday.

You sound like someone who's job isn't important. Just don't go in at all. You'd be wasting your time anyway

I would say go in when you wake up. Not necessarily normal time, but not necessarily 10am

D. Work from home, start at normal time.

E. Consult your boss.

If these aren't an option, I'd probably go in late, maybe 930 or so.

Generally speaking, just be reasonable. There's no hard rule in our office. But we're not watched as it relates to when we come and go.

This is my situation every single week and will be for the next year. 6:30am flight on Mondays to client, don't get home until 11:30pm on Thursday. I work from home on friday unless there is a good reason for me to be there.

And mention every fifteen minutes how I didn't get in until after midnight.

If I have an all day meeting I typically will fly back the next morning and have the day off.

If the situation calls for me to get back late I will text or email my boss that I will be in a little later than normal due to a late flight (wont ask). I typically will go in around 9ish. This doesn't mean I get drunk and sleep till noon.

Basically, be and act like a professional because that what you are.

You people are pussies.

12am landing puts me in my bed before 1am. If I can't function at work on 4-5 hours, I need to go buy some vagisil.

Eta: I function on that 3-4 times a week as is. Why use a late flight as an excuse?

Ha-ha! You work in an office.

Anyway, I'd show up on-time, then leave early when everyone sees you're not worth a shite tired.
