Damn I had no idea. I sold services to that account a year or 2 ago. Owner was a real nice guy and I'm pretty sure they supplied all the sandwiches for the LSU games.

Its sad. 35 years ago it was one of the best malls in the US.

It's almost time to build a new mall to replace the old new mall that's about to be overrun 24/7.
Instead of the 9 CATs buses sitting at Cortana, they will all be at the Mall of Louisiana.

I went there Friday for the first time in years. It was crazy how many stores were closed down. It literally felt like the apocalypse walking around in that mall.

The last time I went to the "new mall" was in 2009 and I thought it was in a pretty sad state then. I cannot imagine what Cortana is like. I'll just be happy with my childhood memories of it.

Who use to go to Cortana on Saturday's with a friend, go hit up Orange crush, go buy a tape/cd at the music store, go play a few games at the arcade then go through the mall a few times checking out all the honeys?

That's exactly what it's turned into. They just loiter around the mall, don't buy anything, curse loudly, fight, and eye rape women. They run in packs of about 30 - 40. Police were nowhere to be found.

I was killing time waiting for the wife there Friday. There was a definite change in demographic. That being said and to the malls credit, you can't walk more than 10 yds without seeing a cop or security guard.
EDIT: Pirate King, perhaps my experience was different because it's summer time. There was still a ton of loitering and packs traveling around the mall. But I noticed a ton of security, at least on Friday afternoon.
If people get tired of it, they'll stop going. MoL charges an assload for rent, and stores won't pay it unless the mall controls it. Met the people that used to own the Hallmark store on the second floor and that's the reason they closed that location. Very nice people.
