Side note, I also think a location at Natchitoches would be great. It’s a good stop if you’re heading to or from Dallas from S Louisiana. I use to make that drive often and by the time you hit Natchitoches you’re ready to stretch the legs.

49 doesn’t have near enough daily traffic to support a Buc-ees. Plus, there’s nowhere near the quality and quantity of employ needed in the Natchitoches area to sustain a Bucees. (*Natchitoches is the only Chicfala I’ve ever been too that doesn’t have “chicFaLA type employees”)

Natchitoches is a busy place from late November thru early January due to the Christmas fest. That on top of all the people back and forward from Dallas to S Louisiana. That’s enough to warrant it.

Type of employee? How’s it any different there from Alabama? If you build it they will come or the ones there will adapt.

Buc-ees already has a state approved draining and water retention plan for that location.

Was that done recently or during the previous discussions?

However, just one mile North of the I-10/49 intersection is a Billy’s inside an Exxon station. I’m probably grabbing road food 9 times out of 10 from that place vs a Buccee’s in that same region.

I was at that one about 6 weeks ago.

I was stunned at how expensive the gas was and how small the store is.

They also didn't have Coke products. WTF? I had to go next door to Exxon to get a diet coke.

Yes, the boudin balls and cracklins I got were amazing. The store itself was tiny, and there was nothing in there my kids would eat. And the bathroom was just a step above useable.

As another poster said, I'm kind of surprised Billy's or the like hasn't built some kind of mega station out there. They would make an absolute killing if they did. It may be too late now.

For years we have said that is a perfect location. And now it will be almost exactly halfway between Baytown and the Long Beach / Gulfport one. About 190 miles to each one from that location. The kids can hold it for that long.

Yep. It’s the perfect distance between those 2 and that intersection is already setup pretty well to handle it

With this location I-10 in Louisiana would be covered and I-20 would be covered with the Ruston location

Interesting, do you know which side exactly? My brother in laws employer helped build the Aldi and Racetrac right there. They had to build a big detention basin and a retention basin behind it. I'm guessing Bucees would have to build a bigger one given all the concrete.
