Yes...and they do not know if he has a gun and they want to go home to their families tonight.....if these idiots don't stop disrespecting everyone including the cops they deserve to get the shite beaten out of them. The cops have a dangerous job made more so by all the Earth Day Cultcha.....they just introduced this kid to the actual Earth....

Common misunderstanding. They were just helping him celebrate Earth Day by putting him closer to it.

It looks to me the kid had both hands behind his back and then gets his right hand out to protect himself from the punches from the cop.

I do not know what happened before that, but it looked like the cop did not have to punch the kid.

I have been grabbed by the police in the Quarter when a big fight broke out. I was not involved but I was grab by one cop and then another I had to do everything in my power to not seem like I was resisting bc I was being pulled all over the place by multiple cops. Only time that has happened to me and it was really scary.

Any other encounter with the police I have always been Yes Sir and No Sir and did everything they asked. I have never been hit by a cop.

I feel like I am showing more respect for officers than you do.

You think officers are such untrainable dumbasses, they cant figure out how to cuff a 16 yr old face down on the ground with FIVE DAMN OFFICERS without punching him in the head and face. If they are that damn incompetent, we need to start over.

I happen to think it is plenty possible, therefore this cop should be fired.

It's not that they are incompetent, it's just that 90 days isn't enough time to teach them how to adequately handle themselves. As far as I know there is no required continuing education either so once you're in, that's all she wrote.

BRPD is a scary bunch of guys.

frick those stupid kids.

I was at Earth day. About 2 O'clock we left because it got really dark and you could tell shite was about to go down. Why can't people just enjoy a good time and not act like fricking savages?

Isn't it funny how the video only starts when the punk gets punched? We don't get to see what happened before. Very convenient for the didndunuffins. I'm 100% on the side of BRPD.

Well that is a stupid position to take.

While we don't know what happened up to this point, we do know what is happening in this video and in no way, shape, or form is the cop correct.

It may be ok for a civilian to get into a fight, but it isn't ok for an officer of the law, particularly when he outmans the kid and has him on the ground already.

I'm usually on the cops side until more information comes out, but no new information will make this action acceptable behavior.

Yep. However, many in this thread think it is ok for cops to give out "punishment."

Think how scary that is that Americans want that now

I disagree. I think your position is stupid. I wish one of those little frickers had whipped your arse and then we'd see how you feel. Those kids were looking for trouble. frick that kid.

You know why a cop has never whipped my arse? Because I've never resisted arrest.

There were tons of cops at Earth Day because there has been a pattern of stupid arse behavior by ONE group of people. I'm sick of having to look over my shoulder because there will likely be violence.

Sometimes I think it'd be lots of fun to be a cop.

We only know part of the story so how can you or anyone make up your minds until we do?

Something made these cops go after this young man. What was it? None of us know, yet. All we know is it looks like the cops were overzealous.

It needs to be investigated fully, and in the interim the cops involved should be suspended from duty.

Hopefully the chief and the Mayor will have easy access to body cams or some other tape of the incident and they can move quickly and fairly and justice is done.

how stupid of you to say this with absolute certitude when you cannot possibly be certain about it.

yes, if only there was a commonality about this demographic. Some distinctive trait they all shared so that we could identify the group of people that seem to show up at public events and frick it up for everyone else.

oh, I forgot, we're not allowed to say it. Quick, back to our safe spaces.

I've only run afoul of the law one time and despite the best efforts of the one state trooper on the scene the county guys just had me call a friend and drive me home. I wasn't drunk but they were just satisfying the Trooper.

What happened to those days? Why are cops more stressed than ever that makes them more violent toward the public? Interesting to think about.

Which group? The same group with the same people? Or are you generalizing to include all who look like those in a group(s) who start trouble even though the vast majority who might look line those in the group do stay out of trouble?
