I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion but I see that it's Earth Day, a family gathering and then I see all these videos of all these people fighting, cursing, kicking, whooping and hollering. Then I see the video of the cop and I think. Good, beat the crap out of that kid. Make him respect. Not once do I think, "oh, goodness. That is just wrong of the cop". I wish BRPD could walk around and kick the crap out of every kid that is fighting and being disruptive because the parents sure aren't doing it.

Anyone that isn't being intellectually dishonest and watches that knows the officer was in the wrong and needs to be fired and possibly prosecuted. The officer is the biggest tPOS of everyone at the earth day.

Ha. No.

He was doing his job. The kid was being a dick.

I guess no one else managed to mention there's also an active investigation into a shooting at Earth Day as well.

The kid was unrestrained, actively resisting, and curling his right arm underneath his body when the punches were thrown. Shocking that the usual cop bashers are here saying he was being struck while he was in cuffs.

To those without a clue, the police are allowed to hit you when you are resisting.

Stopped by to see the usual idiots posts. I was not disappointed.

Yep. I am sure the kid did something worthy of getting arrested. But once he is on the ground, with 5 officers surrounding him, punching him hard as you can in the face and side of the head is ridiculous.

ah the old "dindu nuffin" excuse.
You quoted a guy that said nothing about him doing nothing wrong, this post makes no sense, it's laughably off the mark.

Funny how these little cherubs never seem to do anything wrong to warrant an arse whipping
So you're cool with allowing cops to give out arse whippings any time they see fit, right? Yea, good luck with that one.

I don't believe resisting arrest falls under "any time they see fit"

It's not "Resisting Arrest" like so many here keep beating the drum that there has to be a charge to be arrested for in the first place. It is "Resisting an Officer" and can be a stand alone charge.

I highly doubt this kid was at risk for any real brain damage.

"What is to negotiate... All of it began the first time some of you who know better, and are old enough to know better, let young people think they had the right to choose the laws they would obey, as long as they do it in the name of social protest."
One of my favorite quotes that has more focus on modern day protest than most..

TWITTER LINK FOR "FIGHT LOUISIANA"

Apparently people were encouraging the fighting downtown on Sunday as evidenced by tweets such as:

quote:

Earth Day today don't fight in front them white people go on the levee and scuff.

No my reference was to the person who videoed the arrest who clearly said " he didn't do nothing, man". It's also the standard answer if any hood rat who has an encounter with the police.

not necessarily. But I'll give the cop in this case the benefit of the doubt. I doubt he decided to tune this kid up without being provoked. I find it funny that these situations occur but it's never the fault of the one getting tuned up. It's never because he really did resist or he really did mouth off to the LEO, right? Yeah, good luck with that one. I don't notice the cops going out and randomly beating teenagers on a regular basis. Do you?

Because that has zero to do with the officer pummeling the teen. Was he charged with that?
