This is simple. Release the video and end the speculation.

Why? So the stupidity can be posted in some other thread?

I can post 500 videos of cops fighting for their lives and the same crew on here "speculating" will still critique, criticize, and complain. Nothing will change their mind, so let them speculate

The overwhelming majority of people would understand if there truly was a threat. Releasing the video can prove that there was or was not. Pretty simple stuff here.

I wasn't intending to advocate releasing it this very moment. That all makes sense of why it can't be done now. But I do believe it should be released at some point in the near future.

It's funny this only seems to have started becoming a concern the last few weeks, and only when cops are the ones doing the shooting.

George Zimmerman's name was released a day or 2 after that shooting took places and nobody batted an eye. The names and addresses of homeowners that shoot intruders in self defense are known almost immediately. No problems there, amirite?

It's not all CSI but a pistol has plenty of sharp edges and in a true struggle over it DNA will likely be left behind.

Nah, that DNA would be planted. My guess is that a struggle did ensue. While shooting him takes it to the highest level, the drunk should habe known it was a possibility when he resisted.

Don't mess with the bull baby.

I hope there is good video & audio of this. Hopefully they will release it along with his blook alcohol content. That's the only way we'll know if this cop was full of dhit or not. I am to the point where i really dont believe any statement from cops in br. Cops in that area will pull you over for not leaving your blinker on long enough so they can hopefully get you for a dwi. I wouldnt doubt it if something like that is why the guy got pulled over.

So what? I can post 1000 videos of cops abusing their authority. People have a legitimate gripe when it comes to corrupt cops. When you have the power to completely ruin someone's life criticism comes with it.

Yep. Protect the identity of the overlords because it could harm them or their families.

Don't give a rat's arse about the normal citizens or their families.

You are dangerously delusional. There is no way that you behave like this irl or no one would want to hang around you.

Delusional? Probably. Dangerously delusional? Probably not.

People like Scruffy.

As for my original post, names of citizens involved in these situations seem to be released w/out a fuss. When cops are involved, they tend to use the "we won't release their names for fear that they or their family will be in danger" excuse.

I'm just curious why it doesn't work both ways.
