News report of her arrest here: LINK

BATON ROUGE - Police arrested the mother of a Baton Rouge child who fell in a water-filled hole and drowned in connection with his death Tuesday.

Investigators filed negligent homicide charges against Brittni Clark, saying improper supervision of her child led to his death.

Police said 4-year-old Jassiah Clark was reported missing Dec. 20 after his mother said he had been playing outside their home, and she later realized he wasn't there. After an intense two-day search effort his body was found at the bottom of a water-filled hole near their home.

News 2 will have more on this developing story as it becomes available.

Pretty interesting turn of events, considering she was on the news saying she was pissed off at the city for leaving the hole open and she was marching to the mayor's office.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is called faux outrage.

Are those who left the hole uncovered facing any charges?

This seems really harsh for the mother.

I'd be willing to bet if Jassiah didn't witness a double homicide a month before his death, she wouldn't have been arrested. There was a clear pattern that the mother has not cared for the child the way the law demands.

If the hole was left open then this is a tragedy.

If the hole was covered well.....

But why was this chid by himself at night?

they didnt report the kid missing for like 14 hours. it was so common for the 4 year old to be gone that long by himself that no one even paid it any mind

she deserves whatever she gets

We don't have all of the information but I can tell you the last time I let my 3.5 year old out of my sight alone outside for more than 30 seconds was never.

Exactly! Who lets their four year old child run around without supervision.

I am sure they have reasons to charge her. A 4 year old shouldn't be left alone to play in a neighborhood, that is too young. You can't tell him to be home before it gets dark and get away with it. The past incident with the shooting and how long it took to even notice he was missing, all big red flags. I am sure they have plenty of reasons to charge her or they wouldn't risk the bad press.

And what was she doing, anyway? It would be one thing if the child snuck out of his bed during a nap and got outside. That's almost surely not what happened here.

My roommate and I used to ride down Plank Rd sometimes late at night after leaving the Texas Club back in college just to check out the hookers. On several occasions, we saw little children in diapers in the damn road after 2 o'clock in the morning. It's sickening the way some people live.

That was the auntie who was pissed. Never saw them talk with the mom.

that hole was 25' from the house, and in the wide open. They would have to be blind, or never go outside to not know it was there. How do you see something like that and not take it upon yourself not to cover it? Especially if you have a 4 year old?

Good.

The child's aunt was doing a lot of the talking/very vocal on the news to the media. The mother wasn't anywhere to be found.

What person lets their 4 year old child play in the street and not report them missing for 10+ hours?

The kind that are negligent and don't deserve to be parents. Her rap sheet should have been a tell that she would end up being negligent in his death.
