Wow, that is the last school I would think of a shooting taking place at. Huge hippie school. I'm actually going to be staying right next to campus this weekend.

Why? It's a pretty decent sized university.

according to NAU students posting a reddit, this was just a fight that broke out into gunshots

sorry media, doesn't look like you are going to be able to jerk off to another mass school shooting spree this week

Possibly. This is a pretty quiet town, crime wise.

One of my wife's friends, who is a big SJW, went there. I'm sure he'll be attention whoring on Facebook shortly.

I just meant the very laid back nature of that school and that town. Nothing to do with the size of the school. I realize stuff like that can happen anywhere though.

I live here in Flagstaff. It was a bad ending to a fight. Shooting was in the parking lot next to the fraternity dorms. Apparently something to do with the Delta Chi fraternity.

So most likely not any premeditated school shooting.

I hate any shooting, but I guess this is a good thing.

Agreed. It doesn't diminish how terrible of a situation it is for the victims.

The 1 dead and 3 wounded are not the shooter. Shooter is in custody though.

I used to live a stone's throw from that building. Quite surprising to hear this. NAU is definitely a hippie school. I car full of SJW's tried to assault me once because I had a diesel truck and another time they drove by as I was walking with a rucksack to train, and shouted "I hope you die in Iraq". Other than that, Flagstaff is a gorgeous place to live.

I wonder if this seemingly daily violence is something that's always been around or is it new?

Like in the 60s and 70s on campuses during protests and riots for race and Veitnam war...how dangerous was that compared to now?

We always heard people died...but was it only at certain hot spots in the nation or was it bad across all campuses? And is it as bad as now? As scary?

information is just more accessible now. Living in BR you probably wouldn't hear about a shooting in oregon back in the 60s.

you would have probably heard about the shooting last week even in the 60s, as it was pretty bad

but if the Oregon shooting didn't have last week, I doubt we even hear about this shooting today

That's not what I'm asking though.

Is it the same as when campus were a ruckus in the late 60s to 70s?
