I'll hit you up soon

I knew she was into fitness too. That's always a plus when finding an ol' lady

End hijack/

I didn't think about the train tracks you have to cross headed towards Poland. That's a huge problem that I doubt will ever allow the Street car to ever reach the canal

The loyola line is a joke and something I think the city had to agree on for the super bowl committee.
The Loyola line was funded because it directly connects the Union Passenger Terminal (aka the AMTRAK train terminal and Greyhound bus terminal) into the streetcar grid. It had nothing to do with an agreement with the Super Bowl committee, and was funded via a federal TIGER grant for transportation development ( go to page 36 ).

The first phase of the N. Rampart / St. Claude line, on the other hand, is being built mostly via internal system funds, which is why it ends at Elysian Fields. Instead of waiting on federal funding, the system decided to build the first phase with available system funds and get that area into service. There are still plans to connect the line to the Riverfront line along Elysian Fields and to extend the line first to Press St ( 2014 application for $10.1 million TIGER grant ) and eventually to Poland Ave.

The neutral ground down St Claude does have enough room for two sets of tracks -there were two sets there when I grew up on St Claude in the '50s. We rode the street cars to downtown for shopping and doctors visits . If General Motors hadn't bought off governmental officials for the idea of busses the tracks would still be there.

Plan is to go to Poland Avenue, and down Poland to the new cruise terminal. However, that requires navigating the Press St railroad tracks. There is currently no good plan or money to do that, so it's stopping at Elysian Fields.

Also, there is a plan to run a spur down Elysian Fields to tie in to the Riverfront line. That would give you a sort of FQ/Marigny loop.

Yes, there is a plan to create another loop by running a spur from the Loyola line down either Howard and around Lee Circle to behind the convention center, and tie into the riverfront line, or to run a line from Loyola under the expressway to the riverfront line.

Another loop is dreamt up... this would involve expanding the St. Charles streetcar up Carollton until it meets the Canal St line.

I don't get why they felt the need to put those stupid red streetcars on the Canal St. line. Riverfront I get but why Canal?

I'd like to see a line up Howard to the dome....but RTA needs to go back to the future and see how they used to support games at old Tulane stadium

Actually, the loops are a back to the future idea.
There was a time before any of us except maybe Isabelle dwelt upon this Earth. There was a Tulane/Carrollton loop...that is the St. Charles Streetcar would stop at Claiborne Ave. but the Tulane loop would continue on Carrollton Ave. and turn onto Tulane Ave.

The only issue now would be navigating the underpass on Carrollton Ave. under the Pontchartrain Expressway/I-10.
