there are no inside pics. just outside. the rumors about them being pigs and having nasty arse houses even with servants, must be true.

Why is it douchey?
It's douchey in the context of people getting in pissing contests over who has more authentic New Orleans-ness.

And I'll have you know that I was born at Touro Infirmary, with a beignet in one hand and a bejeweled boob in the other.

So fricking recognize.

How is he? Everything he said is true. Only people from NOLA defend the shite/throw up/piss odor that never leaves the city

The high school thing is douchey because private schools fall into different categories (classes), so they are basically asking your social class. I don't really care because I'm not from here, but it's pretty lame.

That's not why people ask that. It has nothing to do with social class. Like, not at all.

And fwiw, no one disagreed with his piss smelling comment but that's only 1 or 2 streets in the Quarter. Gov. Nichols doesn't fall into that category.

How about your redneck dumbasses do something other than walk up and down bourbon street drinking fruity drinks and eating fried food that makes you fatter?

He's trolling his arse off, but I'm amazed at how many people really don't realize what is happening and what has been happening in N.O. over the past 5 or 6 years with the real estate boom. They can't build condos/apartments fast enough to keep up with the people moving here. It is insane to go through old neigbhorhoods and see the new construction and renovations up and down every freaking block.

I've been here long enough that it doesn't bother me much anymore, but I will just say this is utter bullshite. That's certainly an aspect of it. You are clueless if you really think otherwise.

Well, I can say I don't ever ask for that reason. In fact, last week I had a lunch with a drug rep that as were talking we figured out that he actually grew up right around the corner from some of my oldest friends. There were birthday parties and other events that we were both at as kids. All started with him asking where I went to high school. Now we have a better business relationship because of it.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me about all the tax breaks they get for owning a home in N.O.

I've never seen either one of them around town. The two people I know well who've had direct contact with them, one as a neighbor and one as an extra in Benjamin Buttons, have nothing but good things to say about them.

I'm not convinced that they're only here to generate some good publicity and take advantage of alleged tax breaks.

if you were talking public schools, ie, limited by geography, then this would be a legit causal relationship

but otherwise it sounds like your basic "background chatter" of a social interaction
