I've started seeing a lot more of this lately. Guys leaving the name brand of the coat/suit stitched on the bottom of the sleeve. I've always assumed you take this off so i always have. I confronted a co worker one time and told him that was supposed to be removed and he ASSURED me i was wrong. What's say the OT?

Tag or no tag?

Leaving the tag on goes so far beyond trashy it's not trashy any more, it's just retarded.

It's a pretty pretentious thing to do (leaving it on).

ETA: did said coworker wear hats like this?

tags = trashy
no tags = not trashy

Do you leave the stickers and tags on your hats too? I didn't think so.

Leaving the tag seems tacky to me. As if the brand needs to be shown off and knowing that you bought quality isn't enough.

remove the tag by clipping the thread on the outside, then pulling it to the inside of the sleeve. that way, any thread that was damaged when the tag was sewn on gets pulled to the inside, not out. leaving it on is dumb, unless you're minnie pearl

If you are talking about the little ribbon tag that is tacked at the sleeve cuff, I always take it off....not sure it would stay there too long due to normal wear even if you wanted it to stay...

I seriously cant think of ONE reason why a civilized person would leave this on. I mean i went to a wedding like 2 weeks ago and half these douche nozzles had on 1000 dollar suits with the tag still on. It cheapens the look of the suit to me. Im gonna start taking my pocket knife and cutting them off.

They are intended to be removed.

And it doesn't even make sense to leave them on. If your suit has such a tag, it's likely off-the-rack. So no matter the "brand" it's probably not that nice of a suit anyway, or at least certainly not worth bragging about.

But these are also the same kind of people who don't realize that even typically high-end fashion houses make junk lines of cheap suits for sale at J.C. Penney, or Dillards, or Men's Warehouse, or wherever. So they think those brand's labels are impressive.

Probably the same idiots who don't know to cut the stitching on their suit pockets.

The guy I got a couple of nicer suits from got them all ready to go in the tailoring process. Tags removed, vent clipped, pockets opened. And my name was on a tag stitched into the inside of the jacket on the pocket. No idea why you would do anything differently.
