1. Instead of going North on college past Perkins to interstate, take the road behind Walmart or go Balis Dr over interstate and cut over to College
2. Going from highland headed east and let's say you are trying to get to Perkins Rowe. Instead of going staring to Perkins or all the way to bluebonnet, take hyacinth off staring and cut over to Perkins and voila you're right there at Perkins and bluebonnet and you shaved a minute or two off.
3. Everyone knows about Alvin Dark to bypass Nicholson and Brightside

Cutting from Jefferson to Airline by taking that service road that runs in front of Costco.

I cut through the Hobby Lobby parking lot on College to get to the post office. You can take the back roads off Bennington and come out on Perkins to skip all the College traffic too.

Trick question. There are no shortcuts. Everything leads to a bottleneck.

Then you get to sit at the light by IHOP forever waiting to get right back into the traffic.

Your other route is good if you are going all the way through.

If youre getting on I-10, turn right off college, left on congress, left on jamestown, right to the service road and you pop out by I-10

To get to Central from Port Allen: take the old bridge to Greenwell St, Greenwell to Joor, Joor to Lovett, Lovett to Sullivan.

I take Congress/Jamestown everyday to get to I10 from Perkins

ETA: sometimes Perkins is a clusterfrick between Essen and College and I'll turn at the light between Maxwells and Serops and take that through a neighborhood to Congress
