BATON ROUGE - An 11-year-veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department with a checkered disciplinary history recently received a "letter of caution" for allegedly trying to walk out of a store near Baker with items he didn't purchase.

didn't the mayor or a city councilman from baker get in trouble for stealing from a store a few years ago?

Sounds like abuse of a nice perk the store was giving him.

and the response?

Since this incident, The Investigative Unit learned the service station no longer provides free coffee and fountain drinks to uniformed officers.

I blame unions for this crap. No way he has a job if he wasn't in a union. That is just the things in his file I am sure he has done worse and not been caught

Between the hit & runs and the actual robbery, he has proven that he has no morals or honor. He is a disgrace and should be stripped of his position of authority.
Let him be a Tiger-land bouncer.

He proven to be more of a thug than a police officer. When you represent the community and put on the uniform you should represent the community in a positive way. Somehow BRPD, the chief needs to go he is allowing this behavior, and I also blame the metro council continuously allows this behavior to go on where other depts he would have been fired and charged.

You can say what you want about chief Gates with the LAPD. He would have fired you in a heart beat for pulling stunts like this! He wasn't a political lap dog he was an officer since 1949 before he retired not a joke like BRPD's chief!

I remember the clerk at the Circle K in Tigerland telling us about a BRPD officer who would come in, walk behind the counter and get porn mags and then go sit in his car and read them before putting them back on the rack. That same store kept "ice cups" behind the counter for officers to get free fountain drinks.

Makes sense as a business to give drinks to officers to have them hanging around but no way I would put up with stealing food. frick him. Should have filed a criminal complaint for attempted theft.
