Coke Bottling doesn't own it? It isn't one of their newest facilities and serve the Gulf South region?

I understand that, but that doesn't mean we need politicians threatening legislation to enforce advertising one company because they made a sign that lasted 50 whole years.

It sounds a lot like people take this sign seriously and view it as a landmark if they are trying to donate it to the arts council or whatever. On top of that, people on here seem to believe this guy negotiated a cheaper purchase based on not owning the sign

If these points are true, this guy is a douche. If it is just a sign that this guy now owns and nobody tried to make it special till he covered it up, frick the haters

You guys really love Coca Cola. I wonder if Evian Water will have this level of worship in Beverly Hills, circa 2045.

Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED owns it. Coca-Cola ENTERPRISES (Coke Co.) owns the Harrahan one.

serve the Gulf South region

Yes, but not the entire Gulf South; Louisiana and Mississippi. They split Louisiana with Harahan.

Baton Rouge Coca-Cola’s Current Facility
Located at 9696 Plank Road
In 1906, Thomas Daigre, a young businessman, founded the Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Company. The first bottle of Coca-Cola was filled in a small building located at the corner of Europe & St. Louis streets in downtown Baton Rouge where a one horse wagon was Mr. Daigre’s entire distribution system. At the time, the city of Baton Rouge had a population of 12,000 people who could now enjoy a Coca-Cola not only from a soda fountain but from a single serve 6.5 ounce glass bottle as well!

IDK. If so, it has been awhile. I wasn't trying to call you out. I am sitting next to someone who used to work for CC-BR

Technically, if this guy doesn't own the sign, he could legally build some sort of fence surrounding it and they couldn't say shite cause he built it on his property. Then he wouldn't be touching or defacing it, but still effectively hiding it from public display.

I don't even recall this sign in the first place. I lived in BR for 7 years and that sign didn't stand out once.

He owns the building.
The sign is a part of the building.
No valid severance of ownership.
It's his sign.

Downtown crybabies can't make it better.
