That's what I was asking. I can't tell if it's that or "good bye".

Yeah good bye makes more sense. Either way, awful.

After my first son died everybody told my wife and I that with time it will get better. 13 years later with three beautiful, healthy kids . You know what, everybody was full of shite . It doesn't get better . It actually has gotten worse. It= the pain in a parents heart.

Damn. Think whatever little bit of my mind was left intact at that point would go ahead and shatter. I want to go home and be with my kids now.

Damn. I'm so sorry. I'm not going to insult you by trying to pretend to be able to grasp what you've been through and still go through today. All I can say is I hope at least you've found peace.

The saddest part is he apparently knew he was going to die. As others have said, I don't think I could go on. The scariest moment of becoming a father is realizing how terrifying the possibility of losing them becomes.

True. I only thought I knew what fear was until I became a father. I've been a lot of places, seen a lot of things. And nothing in this world can terrify me like my kids.

This. All of it.

I know it wasn't the OP's intent, but damn this will trouble me for the rest of the day. It's things like this that make me wonder if everything really happens for a reason.

God bless that baby and those who he left behind. I'd be an absolute wreck.

I took it to mean "good day" like "have a good day."

I can't believe the brain amoeba has done this again. How common is this thing now?

I've head of people getting this from swimming in lakes and rivers. Looks like this kid got it from playing in the dirt though. First time I've heard of someone getting it this way.

I've been a respiratory therapist for 25 years.. This is still one of the hardest things for me to look at.... Especially having a six year old..

God bless him and his family...

It's incredibly sad, but if you look between the lines you'll see that in the face of death the child was able to focus on what mattered in life and face death with courage, selflessness, and maturity.

Hopefully we can learn from this child how to properly die without fear but rather hope.
