A woman? Me? No indeed. I might be one of the few true men in this thread.

I can only speak for myself but I think now more than ever friendships are fluid. Everyone has options with all this social media that "bff's" and unconditional loyalty are a thing of the past. People come and go. Plus the older I get the busier me and everyone else gets with work and added responsibilities, that I've made the personal choice of focusing on just family. Plus I have a good family so that makes things easier. I love my family and that's it.

That's a pretty wide range of women.

Why would you? God or evolution or whoever created this whole mess didn't design men and women to have platonic relationships. It's a scientific fact.

I'm not doubting your "manhood" but preferring your friends to be male or female has no part in that. You come across as slightly desperate.

Now, I would love if you would expand on your original comment. If you think I am missing out on something I want to know. That's the whole point of me asking.

And modest. Let's not forget modest. Which is funny, because you were accusing someone else of being self-centered.

So tell me how you're a true man.

There's some truth in what you say, but really thats a different discussion than the OP. He's eschewing the possibility of platonic friendship with any woman.

I live with two women I'm not involved in any way with. It can get annoying rather quick, but they've got cute friends so that helps.

I know. But I speaking to what you were saying about loving others outside of family. I choose not to.

It's impossible unless you're gay. And even if it were possible, why the hell would you want to be friends with a woman?

I guess I'm weird but I have friends who are girls. It's not like I hang out with them all the time but still.

Well, the caveat was broad. I was comparing myself to all the posters in This thread who claim no ability or see no value in friendships with unattractive women. That's a pretty low threshhold to step over, so forgive me for taking liberties with my self regard.

So what's the value? And honestly, even if they're unattractive, I still wind up wanting to fock, in general.

Two are my best friends are women that I do not find attractive and would NEVER sleep with.

But other than those two, no. No I don't

So you've never thought about them naked. They've never leaned over in a low cut shirt and you caught yourself thinking, "I think I'd like to see a little more." Just because you would never sleep with her doesn't mean you've never thought about it. And once you've thought about banging someone, the friendship is no longer platonic. I'd bet my house they've thought about sleeping with you.

Op is asking a valid question. It's actually funny because almost all the girls(with one exception) that I've been close friends with in my life I've hooked up with at one point. Some were one time random hookups, while a few turned into more. My guess is that the friendships initially developed because I found all of them at least attractive in the smallest bit.
