This is the city where we name the highway after a police official in the exact spot where he died driving over double the legal limit.

quote:

Reports released by Bossier City police and the Bossier Sheriff's Office said the sheriff's department received calls that a pickup traveling on Louisiana Highway 3 was speeding, swerving and running stop lights. An off-duty sheriff's deputy heard the call, spotted the vehicle, notified his colleagues and began following it. Bossier City police were also notified. Both police officers and sheriff's deputies arrived at Avery's home in GreenAcres Place subdivision. Law officers, who knew they were dealing with a public official, discussed who should investigate the case. Both agencies had jurisdiction because the incidents started outside Bossier City and concluded inside the city. Bossier City police took over the case.

Knowing the right folks in Bossier can get you a long long way. Do think this ends his mayoral run, though.

But the Bossier City boys in their new pimped out police tahoes will be writing DWI out the arse all weekend to the rednecks and busting down the black teens who have a joint.

Well he didn't blow or take the FST. Hard to make anything stick but they should have kept him 24 hours before releasing him.

Ktbs never dates the stories and it's very aggravating when searching their site for news.

Anyway, heard today one of the officers was fired, one quit, the other got 3 days unpaid for not booking that fat frick.

Not a cop, but I'm all for helping anybody I can at work as long as it doesn't hurt the company. But I'll be damned if I put my job on the line in the process.

I'm sure that police juror is thankful and appreciative, but he ain't gonna pay those 3 officers bills. They just screwed themselves out of a job.

Regular folks get sent to LSUS to have their blood drawn involuntarily.

I was complaining about this thing happening to a lawyer friend in Rapides, to a judge friend of mine and he said that was the policy in Lafouche as well.
