For real.
What is he thinking doing the same food that Chimes already does?

I'll be going in here later today and will report back. They opened up yesterday just in time for football season, which I imagine was the goal. I saw a sign that said 6 dollar burger yesterday so I'm hoping it's still there.

You seem upset by something. I hope the deal is off.

So it sounds like this place is just Mahoney's with a different color scheme. I'll have to check it out and probably make all of my judgement based on the beer selection.

I heard they had a $6 Burger deal yesterday. But it was only for one burger and only for one day.

The college kids who live within walking distance are underage. They would be better off opening a counter service restaurant.
ETA- a place like torchy's would kill it there.

Why would you put a sports bar concept across the street from barcadia? Barcadia isn't a classic sports bar concept but clearly attract that demographic in a more unique way than just having a walk ons lite will.

I agree. It's idiotic.
And it's not like Barcadia is killing it.

Maybe the popularity of uber will help out the area more. All those bars end up closing. It's a shame everyone goes to the horrendous shithole of tigerland when chimes st is right off campus and has much more character.

18-22 year olds in college don't care about character (if that's what the two bars on chimes mean)

quote:yeah it's crazy how normal college kids would rather go to a place with cheap drinks and hot girls instead of a hipster freak place like what you have on chimes.

That would seem like the big problem. I'd walk to that area when I was a student but I was only 18-19.

Tigerland is trash, plain and simply. I would go there in college even though it was obviously trash. Actually it's probably a good thing that they have a cluster of bars in a ghetto neighborhood strangely located in the middle of farmland for all the rifraff to go to

Likely to bomb within a year
College kids really don't give a shot about a sports bar
Real food money would be in organizing food truck roundups
