Exactly why this is currently such a big mistake. I understand it should clear things up eventually, but not warning/explaining anything about the intersection to the public was a huge issue.

No, the fricking idiots in this city that either don't know or don't care about traffic laws and are still allowed to drive is the issue. I shouldn't have to explain how to negotiate a new blinking yellow light at an intersection to someone who ostensibly has a license that indicates they know how to navigate a goddamned blinking yellow light.

But everyone here knows that. So why not be proactive about the situation instead of acting like its magically going to fix itself?

Seriously, if they don't truly know you aren't supposed to stop at a flashing yellow light, how are they going to find out? Most of those idiots assume the person who kept going is the one in the wrong.

Everyone knew this would initially be the outcome so why not help alleviate that?

If it was a flashing yellow light by itself it wouldn't be as much of an issue

A 3-tiered stop light that has always been a stoplight but is now flashing is gonna confuse people, mostly bc they don't know the law and think that the power just went out or something.

When the power goes out and a normal traffic light comes back flashing yellow it does so to keep traffic moving on the street that has priority... Proceed with caution without stopping through a 3-tiered light that's now flashing yellow. The other one will be flashing red. This is the same thing.

So it shouldn't confuse anyone. It confuses them because they're idiots.

I agree that they don't know the law, but it doesn't help that they see everyone else stop too

Sort of a crowd mentality

Yeah and it becomes almost a trust issue. Half of the people are just morons, and then everyone else doesn't trust the red lighters to follow the rules so they stop just in case.

I actually saw a sheriff's deputy also stop heading toward Nicholson on Burbank. She was on her phone, but she didn't even seem to know how to navigate it.

At least they have finally put a sign up in the Bogies parking lot.

It's like, "hey, watch out."

Then, "you can only turn right"

"no srsly you'll die."

They need to put up a concrete barricade or those permanent plastic pole things on both sides of Boyd forcing people to turn right. Until they do that people will try to turn left or go straight.

I don't think you have thought about this. Where exactly would the barrier go? In the middle of burbank? No, cars drive there. If on Boyd, the barrier will keep them going straight until the intersection, which will be what they do anyway.
