y'all continue to make it so obvious.

Well, DUH.... I would think Tigress would be the biggest clue.

I've had a head on collision, an RCH away from being T-boned and hydroplaned off of I-10 landing my driver's door on the median, car turned sideways on a tree and I'm still here.

I'll take a traffic light any day now. (And no, not all the accidents were my fault).

s there a big need for access to Sorority Row during the day? When I was in school they all took the busses that picked them up and dropped them off in front of their houses. Is that not the case?

It was when I left in 2012

Traffic will be backed up on Highland at Parker traffic signal to turn left there. Traffic on Parker will be backed up from Burbank across Highland to the lakes.
you sound like you ran the traffic models. this might happen a little bit during the worst peak flow, but it certainly won't be the norm. you'll be ok.

It will happen more than a little bit during rush hour. I have left turned at Parker and Boyd. Equally bad backlog of traffic from Burbank back to Highland.

The point he is making is that people much smarter than you with regard to traffic flow make these decisions. How about you give it a chance to work before just shitting all over it with nothing but your anecdotal evidence?

i bet the people that modeled the corridor and designed the light timings have taken the left turns on boyd into account. the green time at burbank and parker will probably be a good bit longer than it is now. also, if people want to go right on burbank, they'll stop using parker and start using gourrier and milford. parker will more than likely turn into a majority left turning street between highland and burbank.

you'll be ok.

Have you ever traveled in either direction on Essen between I-10 and Perkins???????????

Yes, I have, all the time as I live off of Staring. Traffic going from I-10 to Perkins is usually not that bad--even at peak times of the day. Congested, yes, but it actually flows going in that direction. Once you get past Perkins the new Staring Lane makes it pretty easy to get to Burbank.

Because I have zero faith in DOTD.

These are the same idiots who on a dangerously curvy road along side a bayou in St. Amant removed guardrails when the bayou was dredged and never replaced them. Then, after numerous fatal accidents in which cars ran off the dangerous road into the bayou because there were no guardrails, DOTD said that guardrails were unnecessary, but that the road was too dangerous. Their response to fix it was to close down the bridge that's a 1/2 mile down the road, that had nothing to do with the accidents, so that people have to go 5 miles out of their way to cross that bayou.

Then, to avoid lawsuits against them for the dangerous conditions, they are "giving" the road back to the parish so the parish will be liable for any wrongful death or negligence lawsuits.

I agree with this part, but the stretch from I-10 to Perkins is a gauntlet.

Don't insult my intelligence. I have a pretty high IQ. I'll bet mine is higher than a majority of any employee of DOTD.

Well, then you also have zero faith in the private sector companies that DOTd contracts the work to. Better just stop having faith in anything.

This is a pretty horribly constructed sentence from a genius such as yourself.

Regardless, are you a traffic engineer? If not, stop acting insulted. You shouldn't know more than traffic engineers. Wanna know why? I'll give you a hint....

You aren't one.

Just like the people who turn left off of Boyd at Highland will remember to use Parker.

Fat chance of that happening.

you're pretty cynical, bob.

essen from I-10 to perkins really isn't that bad at peak flow. i've driven it in rush hour many times, and it does flow better than people give it credit for. the other direction? gridlock.

essen is going to be widened in the near future as well, so while they're working on that, it'll be impassable. can't wait to see the threads on that.

I absolutely have zero faith in Barber Bros, and I have very little faith in anything the government does. I don't generally blame the private companies, those poor bastards have to implement DOTD's insane designs. Barber Bros, though, I don't know how those guys keep getting prequalified to bid.

DOTD's insane designs
a small percentage of designs are in-house. it's mostly consulting firms. i thought you worked in the field and knew that.

take a step back and look at the sentiments from the past few pages. let me sum it up:

everything is stupid.
everyone is stupid.
i'm a genius.
