I put it on craigslist and Facebook. I also put a for sale sign on it. Any other things I can do to help sell it?

Did you take it to Carmax and see what they would pay for it?

Not yet. I was going to see if I could sell it myself first

Another vote for carmax. Got a great offer on my truck a few years ago. Walked out with a check in less than an hour

Craigslist.

Took my wife's civic to carmax, and they offered us 4k.

We sold it on craigslist for 7k

Carmax will most likely give you more than a dealer would on trade, but you can sell out private party for more on your own.

It just depends how much your time is worth to you.

But seriously, cars.com or autotrader.com charge a fee but you get a lot of exposure.

Make sure you post it on craigslist every day so it stays on top.

what kind of car is it?

high or low miles?

Did you just post it on your own Facebook page or are you a member of a page like NO/Metairie/Kenner online garage sale?
Don't let the garage sale name fool you. People post all kinds of stuff on there.

Carmax isn't gonna give you much for that.

How much are you asking?

As far as Craigslist goes, you will get all kinds of spam.

When I had an ad there, I posted a cell phone number with instructions to leave me a voice mail message. All other texts and emails were ignored because there are so many spoofers and spammers.
