Looking at warbyparker now. How sturdy are the glasses? Are they warrantied? And any other solid sites?

I just got some from there. Nice quality. Sams was a cheaper for similar quality but my prescription was too dated for them and I didn't want a new exam because my vision hasn't changed. Free home try on or go to their store on Magazine St, Nola (if your local).

Look at Zenni and Eyebuydirect before overpaying for "style".

Gloria Vanderbilt makes some nice frames, a lot of people will tell you they are feminine but I disagree. I know an optometrist that owes me a favor and will give you 30% off if you're interested.

bullshite, any successful optometrist is busy doing eye surgeries and wouldn't waste their time on glasses.

I have keratoconus and basically can't function without glasses. I get all of my eye glasses and sunglasses from warbyparker and zenni optical. Never had any issues whatsoever.

Optometrist
Optometrists are healthcare professionals who provide primary vision care ranging from sight testing and correction to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of vision changes. An optometrist is not a medical doctor. An optometrist receives a doctor of optometry (OD) degree after completing four years of optometry school, preceded by three years or more years of college. They are licensed to practice optometry, which primarily involves performing eye exams and vision tests, prescribing and dispensing corrective lenses, detecting certain eye abnormalities, and prescribing medications for certain eye diseases.

An ophthalmologist — Eye M.D. — is a medical or osteopathic doctor who specializes in eye and vision care. Ophthalmologists differ from optometrists and opticians in their levels of training and in what they can diagnose and treat. As a medical doctor who has completed college and at least eight years of additional medical training, an ophthalmologist is licensed to practice medicine and surgery. An ophthalmologist diagnoses and treats all eye diseases, performs eye surgery and prescribes and fits eyeglasses and contact lenses to correct vision problems. Many ophthalmologists are also involved in scientific research on the causes and cures for eye diseases and vision disorders.

By local do you mean one massive company in Italy?

Warpy Parker and the like are a great place to start.

Definitely love Warby.

Their "pick 5 try-on at home" policy is huge. I highly recommend it. Some of the frames look quite different in person. The pair I ended on was just barely on my list when I viewed it online, but they looked awesome in person.

Also, if you have a really strong prescription, the extra $40 (if I remember correctly) for the extra thin lenses is absolutely worth it! I'm -7.5 and glasses always made me look crazy bug-eyes, but these are much better.

Already ordered the pair above. Fell in love with the wilkies. Don't have a strong presc, so didn't spend the extra.

Any idea on their warranty policy?
