Speaking of a Christmas engagement and since there is a 50/50 chance the marriage will end in a divorce, you may not get the ring back OR it may not be community property.

Many moons ago, I was told that if you gave the ring on a birthday or Christmas, it could be considered a gift prior to the marriage thus the ring would not be part of the settlement. Could have been BS advice or told to me by someone that did not know his arse from a hole in the ground. Check with a competent attorney for clarification.

i am currently shopping myself.

10K - 15K max is what I am looking to spend but prefer around the 10K mark

Like my dad said, get something around that then one day 10 -15 years from now, go upgrade that diamond if you want.

Sears and JC Penny. Women love those engagement boxes.

Hannon's on Bluebonnet near Perkins.

Mr. Hannon gave me a price you'll find online with great service after the sale. Can't recommend him enough.

Or just buy something really nice and you won't have to worry about upgrading later.

Anyone who upgrades an engagement ring no longer has an engagement ring. It's a one time ring.

Why in the hell would you waste $3-4k on a ring? It's time we men took a stand. Just say no to the debeers monopoly.
