Broadmoor is pretty good.
Traffic can clog at school times and with Holy Cross on late Saturday and Sunday. But there are several work arounds. And they police Broadmoor Blvd pretty well, so you don't get a lot of cars screaming through. The side streets off Broadmoor are the best.
There is a Little League Park, a church, two schools, and a fire station. One of the schools has a football field, a track, and a lot of green space that is wide open. Great for dogs. Also, lots of people walk to church and school.
There are some very nice houses in the back on the river. But if you really want high end, go River Raunch. Broadmoor is definitely a mixed income neighborhood.
South Lafayette, is your best bet. But it is growing pretty rapidly and traffic sucks. The number of subdivisions going up in Youngsville/Broussard and South Lafayette is crazy. I'm thinking about selling my place and moving to Breaux Bridge. I'll still be in the country but less traffic and more of a small town living feel.
