I just realized I'll probably need a new phone within the next few weeks. I probably won't go too expensive, but at least this thread has some ideas.
Still like the Android-based ones, but open to an iPhone.

The Note 3 dropped in October and is more powerful than an S4 and with a larger screen. S5 will be out in March probably.
Note 3 is badass. Us old folks can actually read the yext.

FWIW, I've had a Galaxy S4 since June. Absolutely love this phone. My wife just decided to get one last week, and she loves it too. The camera is stellar (especially in sunlight).
I was looking at my dad's new iPhone 5 (got it from work) to help him set it up. Never remembered how small the screen is. Seems like a ton of wasted space on the front of the apple phones. Do yourself a favor and play around with both of them for ten minutes or so. You'll make the right decision.

The Note 3 has been phenomenal for me.
The screen size has never been an issue I even wished it were a little bigger after having it a few days.
The battery is great (don't need to bring charger to work) and the camera is terrific.
I could never go back to a smaller screen phone after owning this phone.
