No fitbit device. Why the hell do you need an "activity device?" It's all fricking stupid, just get outside and walk/run/bike a few miles a day, do a few push-ups and you'll be good.

These things are trash, I went through 5 of them in 2 years. Band breaks, battery sucks.

Just use your phone and the my fitness plan, map my run, or map my walk.

same shite

Go with one of the Garmin products.

My Garmin watch doesn't count steps half the time, yet records stairs climbed when I get up from my desk.

Does fitbit count bites of your Double Whopper as a step?

Extremely inaccurate. Put on and zip up your pants, 17 steps. Rearrange papers on your desk, 12 steps. Worthless.

That's bull shite.

I'm thinking someone does not know how to calibrate their stride length.

I have a charge HR and it's been great. It's pretty accurate, other than counting steps when on a golf cart.

And I know it sounds dumb to people who haven't used one, but it actually does make me get up and walk around more during the workday or run extra in the gym.

And I'm not a fat.

I have the Fitbit Blaze. My company gives me a $100 per month discount on my health insurance premium if I hit certain milestones. They also pay up to $200 a year for my gym membership. Plus they pay for the device.

The blaze uses your phones gps, so it is fairly accurate. I like it because you can get your phone calls and texts on your watch. When I am in meetings or walking around my office I can see if someone is calling or texting. I use it more to track my runs and pace without having to have my phone in my hand.

Shameless old thread bump

My company is getting us FitBits in the next month or so. I'm torn between the Alta HR or Charge 2

Anyone have experience with these?

If you wanted just a step counter, sure. They track heart rate too. They have a lot of cool workout features.

i had a similar thing, i chose the scale as it was $140 retail and (see advice from a month ago):::

I got a fitbit scale once. I traded it in to Dick's sporting goods for store credit and bought a new Callaway Apex 2 iron.

Hope this helps.
