But yes Freeport was bad....

Not as bad as Jamaica though....

How many people are going? Rent a house and get a jeep on St. John. You won't be disappointed.

I'd scratch st Thomas as well.

Another fun spot that we have enjoyed is old San Juan.

Seems like my wife and I are going to Punta Canta (SP?) in the Dom. Is this safe? None of you have mention it.

Parents went there about two years ago. Where they were at was 1st class and enjoyed it. Toured a lot of tobacco/cigar places when not just taking it easy.

I used to go to Freeport for work (there is a huge tank farm/terminal there), I could never imagine people vacationing there

I always stayed at a "resort" there, it was like $100/night

You looking to lay on the beach or want to get out and roam with stuff to do?

Exuma is my recommendation. It's unbelievable. We try to stay in Little Exuma though there are very few rental properties there.

The Out Islands are by far my wife and I's favorite destination because they are so underdeveloped and easy to get to. It's like going back in time; no mega resorts or high rises, no rules, just rent a jeep for the week and explore a different beach every day often seeing no other people at all.

If you like a little adventure, you will love it.

Thanks SuwMwf. Looking to book in the next day or so. friends already booked with sandals. Something about a golf deal. Did you play golf? Are they goat ranches or nice?

Sister went there earlier this year. Stayed at a great all inclusive resort and had a great time. As to safety. Most of the Carribean is pretty unsafe when you leave the resort so if you plan to do exploring, there might be better locations.

No, I'm a diver, but the snorkeling was so fun we left the gear in the closet at the house. I honestly wouldn't stay at sandals. Check out grand isle resort. Its not far from sandals so you can still go golfing if you want. Go to Minns in Georgetown. Rent a boat atleast one day. We did 3 days. Take your boat to stocking island for pig roast on Sunday. Go to Santana's for conch. Awesome! Love that island and the people.

This

If you stay at a Sandals resort, it really doesn't matter where you go.
