They are almost as comfortable as my tennis shoes. Which is saying something, cause I have skinny feet so it's hard to find pull on boots that fit right.

I find that most people buy Ariat square toes boots for thier first cowboy boot. The square toe makes them feel more comfortable about buying their first pair of cowboy boots.

However, they look noticeably cheaper than a nice pair of luchesses or similar.... And they are made in china. If you're going for a pair of throw down cowboy boots they are a good option. If you want a pair that has a classic look, you can re- sole multiple times for years of wear, and wear with slacks when you need to dress up....ariats are not the answer.

These are going to be for fashion. Wear them with a suit sometimes, not always jeans.

Believe it or not, Justin Ropers used to be a very solid boot, maybe the best combination of comfort and value...

until they started making them out of plastic or whatever.

My Lucchese are the most comfortable pair of footwear I have now. Like walking on a cloud, and they look great with jeans yo.

I kinda like the look of elephant skin boots for being a little bit dressier. They have a nice pattern but aren't obnoxious like full quill ostrich.

Best - Lucchese
Nicest for Money - Justin, Llama, or HH
Cowboy Style work boots - HH stockmans (I have been through them all and have been wearing the same pair of HH everyday for 3 years and went through all of the others in 1-1.5 years) You can also get HH dress boots which are just as nice and comfortable as the Justins
Ariats are below average for the most part

Ariats are comfortable and durable in my experience. Mine feel clunky as shite though, especially when comparing them to Luccheses. I still have a couple of pairs of Ariats and they get used, but just not as often.

I recently got a pair of Frye boots. Mine are not cowboy boots, but I am pretty sure they make them. Mine are quite comfortable.

I wouldn't go with cowboy boots then. Looks unprofessional imo.

We just had a thread about this on the OB this week. One guy suggested going to Mexico to buy boots and save a ton of money.

I'm heading that way weekend after next to get a few pairs.

Do you want rubber soled western boots (Ariats), or the real deal leather soled boots?

Totally agree. I still have a pair of the old Justin Ropers and they look and wear great. I was at a boot store a few weeks ago and looked at a pair and was like "what in the heck are these?"

So we can't just wear a good looking pair of boots because we need to put something on our fricking feet to walk around in? They have to be 5 lbs of steel toes?
