Travel as much and as far away as possible while you're young.

Stay in shape.

Don't shave your head. After you hit 25 and you shave it with a straight razor it doesn't grow back like it did when you were younger.

Start wearing exoficcio underwear. Life is too short for uncomfortable drawers.

Save money and marry a saver that agrees with your opinions regarding children, money, religion, and sex.

Now, go frick it up like most of us.

I'm 61, retiree, married 38 years. Here is my take on life looking back.

Enjoy life, but be sure to save. I have a lot of friends that went balls to the wall spending like a drunken sailor over their productive years, keeping up with the Jones,, now retired, and wondering how to make ends meet. You will find that it is much easier to adjust to a higher income than a lower one.

401K, if your company offers one, max out your contribution. You will thank me when you retire. If not, start a Roth.

If you find the girl of your dreams marry her. Nothing builds a bond between spouses like going thru the struggles of life together and coming out on top.

As time rocks along, you will find your priorities in life change also.

Again, it can not be stressed enough, live within your means.

Do you contract work on the side? I would like to retire in the 50-55 range from my corporate job, and consult until I die. Seems like a good plan in my head.

Start earning...

You will sell yourself at some point...make it a product people want...

3 hobbies, one that keeps you fit, one that could earn you money, one that you love...

Keep your hands to yourself...

Begin to grow other young men, replace you...mentor, advise and push others...

Diversify, and risk your cash...if you had bought $100 of bitcoin 5 years ago, you'd have $400,000 right now...

Pick the situation you want to be in in 20 years and build a plan to reach it...seek those who are in that situation and ask them...

Find something you can love to do...and do it...

Don’t take yourself too seriously. Laugh at yourself and understand that there are things in life that you can’t control. Don’t stress over them. Whether you have kids early or late in life, make sure they know you love them everyday!!! Be honest with yourself and others around you, they/you might not want to hear it but they will respect the honesty.

I have them both too. I find that the Saxx wear out around the waistband. Also find exoficcio material to be more breathe-able.

The best advice I can give you is this: go get snipped.

If you know you never want kids, you are set. If you change your mind later, reversals have become more reliable.

But the main benefit - no chance of inadvertent child support - is paramount in 2017.

It. Will. Ruin. Your. Life.

1. Everything you do can be recorded and used against you 45 years from now.
2. Learn as much as you can about love, loving and being loved.
3 There is only the one divine mystery and you are part of it, in union.
4. Invest 10% of income in NYSE. Leave it alone.
5. Save 10% for house.
6. Sorry bud, but 25% of women have an STD. Get to know would-be intimate partner.
Think of them as on loan. You will never ever own one, even if you give her ring, love and happy smart children. Everything is on loan. Everything.

Save your money.
Ask the girl out.
Call your Momma.
Before you marry, check out the mother. That is your future.
Take your kids to church. Sets the tone.
Live simply. It will payoff.
Save for things. Do not charge.

If a chick tells you "its ok, I'm on birth control" she's lying. Wrap it up twice

To the OP:

There's no blanket advice for all 24-26 year-olds.

I'd have to know the particular person, a MD just starting out is different than a farmer, etc.

Most of the stuff is generic to 10, 20, 30 or 40 year-olds:

Be honest
Do your best
Don't trust whitey
Respect your elders
Listen (at least) twice as much more than you speak
etc...
