Difficult and tricky, but not bad advice.

Same here bro. Same here. I'm in a massive life rut and trying to figure out wtf I want to do with my life. My biggest mistake was moving into the river house 45 min away from any of my friends and shite to do.

Dirty breakup + living alone in bfe + not knowing wtf you wanna do with your life sucks

Amen brother, amen.

The 3-4 months post breakup were rough. Lots of alcohol/substance abuse. I was able to buckle down on work and earn the promotion I recently received.

Moving right now isn’t an option, but maybe in a few years it will be an option. My company spans from TX to FL.

Make a budget and live by it. I screwed up and didn't do well for a couple of years. But after just 6 months of a good budget I'll be essentially debt free outside of student loans by the time I'm 30 (I'm 28). So that I can save up and actually buy a house. But I wish I had done this 4 years ago and I'd be in my own house right now. Live tight for a few years so you don't have to worry about it the rest of your life.

If you aren't actively in some kind of career path, or on a good educational path, I'll tell you to do one of two things:

1) Do a seasonal job at some kind of resort or destination. Ski lift operator, whitewater guide, zipline fig, whatever.

2) If you're a mean baw who don't mind hard work, get an agricultural apprenticeship in an area that you like. Tons of opportunities for a degenerate dopehead like yourself.

Amen man.

That’s what I’ve done for the past 6 months.
And it has paid off now with a promotion.

This opportunity now erases all of my worries of money/bills/necessities.

Looking for good advice on best way to proceed forward now that I have the luxury of “disposable income”. NOT BRAGGING. It’s not much tbh.
:nb4memes: not trying to derail the good/serious answers so far.

Depends what you like to do.

Just realize the first few years will be a struggle, but you will be rewarded with what you put in.

Not with some type of corporate, 5 yr anniversary plaque or a stupid shite, but real $$.

I've been looking Into this simply arse a way to get myself out of this depression/slump I've been in. Living alone gives me wayyyyy too much time to myself to think about all my frick ups and it just compounds the issues.

Uncle runs a big farm in Vidalia. I worked for him one summer In high school. And I swore to myself I'd never work manual labor again

Be careful not to start living up to your new means. Lots of people tend to live paycheck to paycheck regardless of their income.

Invest a lot of the extra income, cut out the substances, cut down on the alcohol, and travel. You feel like you're stuck in BR, but you now make good money, so travel. It doesn't have to be a week long vacation. Take a long weekend and hop on a plane. Take a girl with you. She doesn't have to be your serious girlfriend.

Enjoy life while you have the means, youth, and freedom to do so.

Do it. You won't regret it. A change of pace and scenery can do wonders for the psyche. And seasonal jobs, especially in nice places, always have hot trim for easy pickings. That will perk any virile young man up.

The second Mary Jane becomes legal I'll be opening the first dispensary in baton rouge

In all seriousness, been thinking about getting into owning/renting commerical property. Maybe a little strip mall or something of that fashion.

Unlike everyone else here, get married youngish and have your kids youngish. You don't want to start having your kids and doing the coaching and such once you're too old. It's a young people's game.

This way, you're still a bit younger when your kids get old enough to have real, adult conversations and have a cigar with your son.
