My family is big into the Belgian Malinois' community in FL. Some of the best dogs that you can own.

I toyed with the idea of getting one for a deer tracking dog after my current dog quits. Can't decide if all that damn hair is worth it though. Holy shite those are some shaggy mofos

German Shepherds are awesome. I'd get a 2nd or 3rd if only they didn't shed so much.

I have no experience with Malinois in a hunting capacity. I kniw the are great sheep hearderthough. As far as hair, just look for a line with shorter hair (it will be hard though, most of them have a "wirey" coat.

Years back, Shreveport cops flushed the armed robbers of a liquor store who were hiding in bushes.

One big old boy ran for it--cop said he was 6'2" himself, and the robber towered over him--and they let go the German Shepherd.

The cop said that every other time the dog managed to get his chompers in someone, they were caught, but this big MF jumped a hurricane fence with that dog locked on his right arse cheek, then managed to shake off the dog and escape.

They later identified the 6'6" robber through ordinary investigation. They used the awful scars on his right arse cheek to link him to the crime.
