Curious how it is around town? Y'all see this getting worse before it gets better?

Good thing is y'all have competent elected officials on your side who will get y'all through this.

After second thought, many prayers coming your way

I mean the mood is largely based on who you surround yourself with. If you're black or I n the NBR, you're still not over the Sterljng death. White folks are latching onto Dallas shooting. The anger and distrust is the same here as it probably is everywhere

I went to Roberts on Claiborne in New Orleans yesterday afternoon and felt very uncomfortable. There were 2 security guards at the front door, the black cashier didn't say a word to me, she just looked at me and didn't smile. The black couple behind me just stared at my groceries and then stared at me. No emotions whatsoever. So, i checked my white privlege, paid with my debit card and even took $100 cash back. Nah, take that you rude mother frickers.

No I was polite, I asked her how was she doing. I even said hello to the couple and their little snot nose kid that kept trying to take things out of my basket. I got nothing

The white waitresses at Hooters on Siegen were mean. Conversely, the African American waitresses couldn't have been any nicer.

As long as the outside agitators stay out I don't think it will be too bad.

Also it's too damn hot

The guy that delivered my pizza last night was a very nice black man. It was weird though, he rang the doorbell then went and stood on the sidewalk. I had to tell him to walk up to the door. I could tell he was a little hesitant. I was all good. I gave him a good tip.

To me it actually seems a little calmer than normal here. Kind of like people are going out of their way not to stir up shite.

I'm at the chess club Saturday at the main library with the kid. No race riots here. But I'll update in case shite jumps off.

The police have handled themselves well.. Kip has disappeared.. Not sure why when this could have given him some state wide popularity if he looks to run again In The future

In my normal course of the day, without this message board or tv, wouldn't know there's any issue.

At work, restaurants, multiple stores not a single unusuall interaction. I think you find what you are looking for.

Edit: I did hear that hotel vacancies/ cancellations are way higher than normal.

I can understand being upset that any kind of shooting happened near where you live or work and certainly this incident.

That said.....the city of Baton Rouge turned this over to the FBI and DOJ within hours of the incident. They are legitimately trying to keep it above board. The victim's own family doesn't want things to get violent.....so IMO outside agitators should not receive a warm welcome. They would be escalating an already bad situation.

The last thing Baton Rouge needs are protesters bussed in from Atlanta or the National Guard patrolling the streets.
